As part of the Istanbul Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SKUP) Phase II – Implementation Plan Project, the Second Bus Priority Lanes Workshop was held on 19 February 2025.
The workshop shared with stakeholders the process of identifying bus priority lanes aimed at improving the efficiency and safety of Istanbul’s public transport system and collected feedback on the proposed corridors.
Experts and local stakeholders reviewed the technical analyses and selection criteria for potential bus lanes. Discussions focused on the proposed routes, their implementation processes, and the potential of bus lanes to reduce travel times, enhance safety, and contribute to sustainable mobility goals.
Based on stakeholder input, the factors to be considered in corridor selection and the necessary steps for effective implementation were addressed.
Work on bus priority lanes continues as part of efforts to create a more accessible, faster, and environmentally friendly transport system for Istanbul.
