As part of the Istanbul Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SKUP) Phase II, the “Workshop on the Evaluation and Prioritization of Transport Investments” was held on 9 July 2025.
The workshop, which began with opening remarks by Melda Horoz, Head of the Transport Planning Department at Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, featured presentations on Multi-Criteria Analysis (MCA) and Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA). Senior Expert Işıl Nadire Yener and Expert Görkem Akyol presented the Implementation Plan to participants. Opinions and feedback were gathered through interactive sessions and evaluation forums.
The workshop reinforced the vision of collective planning for a sustainable transport future in Istanbul.
Organized within the framework of the Istanbul Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SKUP) Phase II – Implementation Plan Project, the workshop brought together representatives from public institutions, experts, and stakeholders on 9 July 2025.
In her opening speech, Melda Horoz presented SKUP’s objectives, its current progress, and the vision for sustainable mobility in Istanbul.
Through presentations delivered by Senior Expert Işıl Nadire Yener and Expert Görkem Akyol, participants were introduced to the details of the Implementation Plan developed under SKUP Phase II. The prioritization of projects was addressed using Multi-Criteria Analysis (MCA) and Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA) methodologies.
In the afternoon, workshop sessions enabled participants to actively contribute to the process. During the evaluation forum, feedback was shared, and common perspectives were developed regarding the feasibility and impact of the proposed projects.
With the goal of creating a more sustainable, accessible, and data-driven transport infrastructure, the SKUP Project continues to move forward by placing participatory planning at its core.
