Within the framework of the SKUP Phase II – Implementation Plan Project carried out by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, the “Project Development and Evaluation Workshop” was held on July 10, 2025. The workshop, attended by experts in the field of transport planning and representatives of relevant institutions, addressed topics such as strategic project development, conceptual framework, work plan, and budgeting through both theoretical and practical sessions. The event was moderated by Project Coordinator Murat Ölmez, and all presentations were delivered by Senior Expert Işıl Nadire Yener. Participants gained knowledge and experience in developing sustainable transport projects.
Organized under the Istanbul Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SKUP) Phase II – Implementation Plan Project, the workshop took place in Istanbul on July 10, 2025, bringing together specialists and institutional representatives working in transport planning and project development. In line with the goals of sustainable urban mobility, the workshop aimed to strengthen participants’ project development capacities and contribute to the creation of feasible projects by covering a wide range of topics.
Strategic coherence, intervention logic, preparation of conceptual frameworks, development of work plans, and budgeting processes were elaborated in detail through full-day theoretical presentations and practical workshop sessions. The event was moderated by SKUP Project Coordinator Murat Ölmez, while all presentations and workshop sessions were conducted by Senior Expert Işıl Nadire Yener, an experienced professional in the field of transport projects.
Participants not only acquired theoretical knowledge but also had the opportunity to apply project preparation processes using real-life examples. Throughout the workshop, discussions focused on the fundamental principles of project cycle management, project design from idea to implementation, formulation of intervention logic, preparation of conceptual frameworks using the logical framework approach, and the development of effective work plans and budgets for sustainable projects.
By the end of the workshop, participants were equipped with both technical and strategic knowledge to develop projects that contribute to the vision of sustainable transport. The event also enabled knowledge and experience sharing among participants, fostering stronger inter-institutional cooperation. Supporting the implementation steps of the Istanbul Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan, this well-structured workshop made a significant contribution to the city’s efforts to develop sustainable, accessible, and environmentally friendly mobility solutions.
