Within the framework of the Istanbul Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SKUP) Phase II – Implementation Plan Project, the “Third Healthy Streets Workshop” was held in Istanbul on February 28, 2025.
The opening speech was delivered by Melda Horoz, Head of the Transport Planning Department of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. Participants were informed about the ongoing activities under SKUP Phase II and the objectives of the “Healthy Streets Pilot Project.”
Dr. Sertaç Erten and Batuhan Akkaya shared details of the pilot project and introduced the designated project areas in the districts of Kadıköy, Çekmeköy, Sultanbeyli, and Adalar. In the second part of the event, workshop sessions were held to gather participants’ views and suggestions on topics such as accessibility, active mobility, sustainable urban design, and the expansion of green spaces.
The workshop provided a platform for developing new ideas and strategies to contribute to Istanbul’s vision of human-centered mobility and environmentally friendly urban planning.
