Within the scope of the Istanbul Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SKUP) Phase II: Implementation Plan Project, a training program titled “Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for Sustainable Mobility” was organized on 29 December 2024 for Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) staff. The training aimed to enable participants to use GIS technologies more effectively.

Participants engaged in hands-on exercises on topics such as database creation, thematic map design, the use of geoprocessing tools, and spatial analysis techniques. In the afternoon sessions, they practiced data management and applied various analytical tools. The training enhanced participants’ knowledge and skills on how GIS technologies can strengthen transport planning.

The program concluded with case studies and a Q&A session.
