As part of the Istanbul Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SKUP) Phase II – Implementation Plan Project, the Workshop on Data Evaluation in Sustainable Mobility was held on 28 May 2025 in Istanbul. The workshop focused on quantitative and qualitative data evaluation methods and discussed data-driven decision-making processes in transport planning.
The event began with opening remarks by Melda Horoz, Head of IMM Transport Planning Department, and addressed approaches to support evidence-based decision-making in urban transport planning.
In a presentation by Project Leader Shaleen Srivastava, a comprehensive framework for quantitative and qualitative data evaluation methods was shared. Participants had the opportunity to assess the differences between the two approaches and how they can be used complementarily.
Later in the day, a forum session discussed challenges and solutions through case studies of “insufficient data evaluation scenarios.”
The workshop contributed to advancing a data-driven and holistic approach in Istanbul’s transport planning process.
